Terms and Conditions

Craftycorner Garage Door & Gate Technician
Effective Date: 29 March 2026

1. Services Provided

Craftycorner Garage Door & Gate Technician (“Craftycorner”) provides professional services including, but not limited to:

  • Supply and installation of garage doors, including sectional doors, tilt doors, roller doors, and PA doors (personal access doors)

  • Supply and installation of garage door motors and gate automation systems

  • Repairs and maintenance of garage doors, tilt doors, sectional doors, roller doors, gates, and openers

  • Installation of solar systems, WiFi automation, safety beams, batteries, and accessories

All services are subject to availability and may require an on-site inspection or formal quote prior to scheduling.

2. Quotes & Scope of Work

All quotes are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

  • Quotes are based strictly on the scope outlined

  • Any additional work will be quoted separately and must be approved before proceeding

  • Prices are in NZD and may be inclusive or exclusive of GST

Craftycorner reserves the right to adjust pricing if unforeseen issues arise (e.g. structural problems, electrical upgrades, or incorrect site information).

3. Call-Out Fees

A minimum call-out fee may apply to all service visits, regardless of whether work is completed.

This fee covers:

  • Travel time

  • Inspection and diagnosis

  • Initial service attendance

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise

  • A 50% deposit is required for jobs over $1000 NZD

  • Work will not be scheduled or materials ordered until deposit is received

 
Accepted payment methods:
Bank transfer, EFTPOS, cash, or approved online payment systems

Late Payments:

  • 2% monthly interest may apply

  • Accounts overdue 30+ days may be sent to collections

  • Recovery costs will be added to the balance

Deposits are non-refundable once materials are ordered or scheduling is confirmed.

5. Client Responsibilities

 The client is responsible for ensuring:

  • Safe and unobstructed access to the work area

  • Suitable structural conditions for installation

  • Adequate and compliant power supply

 

​Craftycorner is not responsible for delays, failures, or additional costs caused by unsuitable site conditions.

6. Pre-existing Door & System Conditions

Clients must disclose the condition of existing garage doors, tilt doors, gates, or automation systems.

Where Craftycorner advises that an existing system may affect performance or lifespan, and the client chooses to proceed:

 Craftycorner accepts no responsibility for faults caused by the existing structure or system

7. Scheduling, Cancellations & Access

  • Minimum 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling

  • If access is not available at the scheduled time, a call-out fee may apply

  • Craftycorner may reschedule due to:

    • Weather conditions

    • Safety concerns

    • Parts availability

8. Emergency & After-Hours Work

After-hours or emergency services may be charged at a higher rate.

Rates will be communicated prior to attendance where possible.

9. Warranties

Products are covered by manufacturer warranties as specified at the time of purchase.

Typical warranty periods include:

- Garage door motors: 5 to 7 years depending on model
- Gate motors: 5 to 7 years depending on model
- PA (personal access) doors: up to 7-year structural warranty and 1-year hardware warranty
Craftycorner provides a 12-month workmanship warranty on all installations.

Warranty periods may vary depending on product type, supplier, and usage conditions.

 

Craftycorner may offer extended protection plans (including up to 10-year Premium Care) on selected products and system combinations.

 

Extended protection may be included with certain full system installations (e.g. garage door and motor packages) or offered as an optional upgrade for an additional cost.


All extended protection plans are subject to specific terms, conditions, eligibility criteria, and proper use and maintenance.

Full details of coverage will be provided separately at the time of purchase.

​10-Year Extended Premium Care – Registration Requirement

To activate any extended protection (including 10-year Premium Care), the client must complete the official warranty registration through Craftycorner’s website within 30 days of installation.

If registration is not completed within this period:

Only the applicable standard manufacturer warranty and Craftycorner’s 12-month workmanship warranty will apply.

For garage door motors, extended protection is limited to 10 years or 20,000 cycles (whichever comes first).

 

General Conditions for Extended Protection

All extended protection plans are:

  • Subject to specific terms, conditions, and eligibility criteria

  • Dependent on correct use, maintenance, and installation

  • Limited to products supplied and installed by Craftycorner

Full details of coverage will be provided separately at the time of purchase.

 

Warranties are void if:
- Products are misused, modified, or tampered with
- Maintenance is not performed as recommended
- Work is altered or repaired by unauthorised third parties
- Damage is caused by external factors, including weather, impact, or structural issues

Supply-only installations:

Craftycorner is not liable for faults caused by incorrect third-party installation.

10. Refunds & Returns

All refunds comply with the:

  • Consumer Guarantees Act 1993

  • Fair Trading Act 1986

  • No refunds for change of mind once work is scheduled or products ordered

  • Faulty products will be repaired or replaced where applicable

  • Service fees are non-refundable once completed

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:

Craftycorner is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss

  • Loss of access, income, or business interruption

  • Delays caused by suppliers or external factors

Liability is limited strictly to the value of the services provided.

12. Delays & Supply Issues

Craftycorner is not responsible for delays caused by:

  • Supplier shortages

  • Shipping delays

  • Events beyond reasonable control

13. Ownership of Goods

All goods remain the property of Craftycorner until full payment is received.

Craftycorner reserves the right to recover unpaid goods in accordance with New Zealand law.

14. Media & Marketing

Craftycorner may take photos or videos of completed work for:

  • Documentation

  • Marketing (website, social media, advertising)

No personal or identifying information will be shared without client consent.

15. Privacy

All personal information is handled in accordance with the:

  • Privacy Act 2020

Information is used solely for:

  • Service delivery

  • Communication

  • Invoicing and business operations

16. Service Area

Craftycorner operates primarily in Christchurch and surrounding areas.

Travel fees may apply outside standard service zones.

17. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

18. Acceptance

By accepting a quote, booking a service, or making payment, the client confirms they:

  • Have read and understood these Terms

  • Agree to be bound by them

Acknowledgement & Agreement
By accepting any quote, making a payment, or proceeding with services provided by Craftycorner Garage Door & Gate Technician, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms apply to all work carried out unless otherwise agreed in writing.
